Volunteer Tea at Lilian Place Heritage Center

Join us for a relaxing Afternoon Tea to learn about all the volunteer opportunities at Lilian Place Heritage Center!  

This is a FREE event to recruit new volunteers!  

Have a little extra time (or a lot of extra time) and would like to help?  We need volunteers to help with tours, afternoon teas, events, gift shop, grant writing, off-site events, painting, carpentry, lawn maintenance, gardening... or join the Makers Craft Group!

Lilian Place Victorian Museum is the original home of one of the founding Daytona families, the Thompsons.  Lilian Place was built in 1884-85 and is the first grand home on Daytona's beachside.  Home to many historic Daytona antiquities and a beautiful Museum to visit.  It is open for tours daily from 1-4pm, closed Tuesday.  Many visitors from all over the world come to see how the Victorian's lived in early Daytona.  You can be a volunteer docent/tour guide and tell the history of Lilian Place and early Daytona Beach, help in our new gift shop, or help with events at Lilian Place such as the "Dining with the Spirits" paranormal investigations.

The Historic 1905 Hotchkiss House is the original home of Eli Hotchkiss known as the "Stapler King".  It is now our Cultural Event Center where we hold Afternoon Teas, Wind-down Wednesday history presentations, Murder Mystery Dinners, and special events.  You can help at each of these events or whichever one(s) fit your schedule as a server, cashier, bartender, kitchen help, etc... or general setup help for events.  Have a flair for the dramatic???  We are also seeking writers, actors and directors for our Murder Mysteries.

These historic properties sit on 2.5 beautiful acres overlooking the Halifax Riverfront.  It takes a lot to keep the properties beautiful and help is always needed!

There is something for everyone!  And we appreciate all the help our volunteers can give!

Our Mission: the purpose for this non-profit, nonpartisan corporation, is educational programs, fund raising, and grant acquisition for preservation of historical buildings and lands. It is a coalition of diverse people from many cities drawn together by the concern for saving our history. Too many lovely homes and important historical sites have already been destroyed!

We invite you to join the Lilian Place Heritage Center/Heritage Preservation Trust, a non-profit group, that is committed to historical preservation and education in Volusia County.

The Heritage Preservation Trust receives no government funding for our operations, so volunteers are critical if we are to continue our work to protect our irreplaceable architectural and cultural heritage.
